Year five. Still making noise.

Winter is here, the year is coming to a close, and like always around this time, we get a little reflective. A little proud. And definitely grateful. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot has been around for four years now. An idea turned into a team. A team became a company. And that company became a place where people build truly good digital products. Time to pause for a moment. What shaped 2025? And what’s ahead in year five?

From project to partnership. When it fits, it fits.

2025 was a good year for real partnerships. For collaboration that doesn’t stop at go live, but starts where others have already stepped back. With a shared view of what’s ahead.

We’re entering the next phase with a major initiative in the lottery sector. It’s about nothing less than a completely new platform, including an app, designed to support one of the state-owned providers in digital operations and delivery. A digital hub with potential for more reach, new services and better integration. Another lottery project is gaining momentum. After a longer preparation phase, the roadmap is set, and our work is running at full speed. The newly developed online platform aims to offer several state-run regional providers a flexible, data-driven and future-ready solution. A third project in the lottery space drew on our accessibility expertise. Small setup, big impact.

An ongoing project in the insurance sector is evolving steadily. AI and process automation are coming into focus. Marketing is becoming more active, services more digital. And existing systems? We keep building on them. In digital legal protection with Emilia, optimisation is the main topic. Including AI components that are already being tested in day-to-day operations. We’re looking forward to seeing some of these platforms go live in 2026 – and to finally telling their stories in full.

Tech and community. Rethinking what’s possible.

We also tried a lot on the tech side this year. New tools like Astro and Solid.js were used on our website. AI-supported helpers found their way into our daily work for coding, QA and reviews. Playwright is now a permanent part of our testing setup.

We’re especially proud of Accessibility Albert. Our in-house tool for accessibility will soon go open source. A small step for us, hopefully a big one for digital inclusion.

Our project landscape has gained in scale. That’s why we’re investing more in software quality and security. Since this year, dedicated QA engineers have joined our team. For reliable tests, clean processes and stable solutions.

We’ve also been active in the community. At Beyond Tellerrand, Webinale, Ruby Kaigi in Japan and at events focused on digital accessibility. Meetups like HH JS, AI Tinkerers, PyLadies or GitLab? We hosted those too.

In 2026, we’ll keep going. With more formats, more ideas and more room for exchange. Planning an event or have something in mind where we should be involved? Let us know. We’re all ears.

We’re growing. Not just in numbers.

Over the course of the year, we grew our team in a targeted way and increased in size by 20 percent. At the same time, we parted ways with a few colleagues. Decisions we don’t take lightly, but with a focus on values, quality and how we work together. At the same time, we welcomed many new talents who bring fresh perspectives and energy to Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. For our partners, that means a strong team with high standards and ready for what’s next.

And yes, we’ve arrived. In early summer, we moved into our new office at Schlump – right in the heart of Hamburg, with plenty of space, a rooftop terrace and room to connect. More on that here!

Strategy, structure, visibility. What happened on the inside.

2025 was a year full of projects, yes. But internally, we also rethought a lot and anchored it in a way that it can grow with us.

Our positioning is now easier to see. The difference between co-founding, outsourcing partner and service provider is clear – not just in how we work, but also in how we present ourselves. Website, social media and presentations now speak the same language. And it fits us.

Marketing is now a real part of communication. We create content regularly, but still situationally because we care about relevance, not volume. We show what works. With case stories like LOTTO Schleswig-Holstein or Renowate. And with a new format where Björn, as the voice of the brand, talks about tech, organisation and what’s ahead.

What became visible:

  • A clear focus on target audiences instead of self-promotion

In 2026, there’s more to come:

We’re now working with an external production company on video formats that don’t just look good – but actually tell stories. About our projects and about the people behind them. Already in use: a new accounting and controlling system that brings more clarity and less friction behind the scenes.

Bottom line: strategy and structure are in place. And everything coming in 2026 can build on that.

Letting things slide? Not our thing.

We’re heading into our fifth year knowing what matters. Good collaboration. Projects that make a difference. And a team that doesn’t stop at eighty percent. Thanks for your trust. For the tailwind. For being part of this. Here’s to year five – and everything that’s coming.
